Transfers in Faro

Faro is the capital of the Algarve and sits in the middle of the regional railway. Faro Airport is only about 7 km away by road, so trips into the city are short and cheap. Many visitors pass through on their way to the beach resorts further west.

Faro Airport to Faro prices

  • Taxi: about €15–18 plus luggage, 10–12 minutes
  • Private transfer: from about €25 per vehicle
  • Bus 16: €2.80 single, cash only, about 20 minutes

On bus 16, check the sign: buses marked “Praia de Faro” go to the beach, not the city. Taxi fares are about 20% higher at night and at weekends, and each bag costs €1.60.

Onward routes from Faro
