Izmir Airport (ADB) transfers

Getting from Izmir Airport

Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) is about 18 km south of Izmir city and the main airport for the northern Aegean coast. It is the closest airport to Kuşadası, Ephesus and Selçuk, and a common arrival point for Çeşme and Alaçatı.

Izmir Airport transfer times

• Izmir city centre: about 25–30 minutes
• Selçuk and Ephesus: about 50 minutes
• Kuşadası: about 1 hour
• Çeşme and Alaçatı: about 1 hour
• Didim and Altınkum: about 1.5–2 hours

Izmir Airport transfer prices

Ride2Kusadasi lists Izmir Airport to Kuşadası from about €55, with VIP options including a Mercedes Vito Maybach. Kusadasi Express lists €100 by Mercedes Vito, with no prepayment and free child seats.

Ephesus and Pamukkale

Both companies also run day trips to Ephesus, the House of the Virgin Mary, Şirince and Pamukkale.

Taxi, Havaş bus or private transfer?

Havaş buses connect Izmir Airport with the city, and the İZBAN commuter train runs from the airport station into Izmir and south towards Selçuk. Both are cheap, but they do not reach most hotels in Kuşadası, Çeşme or Alaçatı directly, and changing trains with luggage is tiring after a flight. Metered taxis wait outside arrivals, but for longer trips a pre-booked private transfer with a fixed price usually works out better, especially for families and groups travelling together.

Cruise passengers

If your cruise starts or ends in Kuşadası, Izmir is the most convenient airport. Give your transfer company both your flight number and your ship’s departure time so they can plan the route via Ephesus if you have time to spare.
