Sibiu International Airport (SBZ) is about 5 km west of the old town of Sibiu. It has direct flights from Germany, Austria, the UK and other European cities, which makes it a handy gateway to southern Transylvania.

A private Economy car from the airport to the city centre costs about €40 during the day, and an 8-seat van about €87. There is usually a night surcharge late in the evening and early in the morning. Prices are per vehicle, so a van is good value for families and groups.
