Transfers to the Douro Valley
The Alto Douro Wine Region has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. Terraced vineyards line the river for miles. Peso da Régua and Pinhão are the main bases for wine tours and river cruises. Distances are long, so most visitors travel from Porto by car or train.

Tips
River cruises leave Régua for Pinhão, and Pinhão quay has trips from one hour to a full day. A private driver lets you visit several wine estates without worrying about driving. Local Douro taxis also run airport transfers on request. Ask for a fixed price that covers tolls and waiting time.
