Warsaw Chopin Airport transfers
Chopin Airport (WAW) is Warsaw’s main airport, about 10 km from the centre. The drive takes 15–30 minutes, and you can choose a licensed taxi, a ride-hail app, the SKM train or a city bus.
Warsaw Chopin Airport taxi prices
Licensed taxis wait at the rank outside exits 1 and 2, where several large Warsaw firms operate. A ride to the centre costs about PLN 35–70, depending on traffic and the time of day. All licensed cabs must stay within the city cap of PLN 10 plus PLN 5.00 per km by day or PLN 7.50 at night. Ignore drivers who approach you in the hall, as unlicensed cabs may charge three or four times as much. Uber is the airport’s recommended ride partner, with pickup on the arrivals level.
Chopin Airport to city centre by train and bus
- SKM S2 and S3 trains leave from the station under the terminal and reach the centre in about 20 minutes
- S2 runs twice an hour to Śródmieście, and S3 runs via Centralna
- Bus 175 runs about every 25 minutes to Centralna, Nowy Świat and Plac Piłsudskiego, taking 25–40 minutes
- Late at night, bus N32 runs every 30 minutes
The airport is in Zone 1, so a normal ticket covers both, about PLN 4.40 for 75 minutes. For city fares see our Warsaw guide, and if you fly low-cost, check the Modlin Airport guide.
