Mercedes transfers from Venice Airport since 2009
Venice is different from other cities. Piazzale Roma is the last point you can reach by road, and from there you continue by vaporetto, water taxi or on foot. Most visitors arrive at Venice Marco Polo Airport or Treviso Airport.
The Alilaguna water bus links the airport dock with Venice, Murano, Burano and Lido. Private water taxis set their own prices, so ask for a quote first.
On 60 days between 3 April and 26 July 2026, day-trippers aged 14 and over pay an access fee from 8:30 to 16:00. It costs €5 if booked four or more days ahead, or €10 later. Overnight guests, including in Mestre, are exempt. For the mountains, transfers also run to Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Fines for entering without the access-fee QR code were €25–150. The airport bus costs about €20 return, and under-6s travel free. Some private companies add about 20% at night and on holidays.
The fixed land-taxi fare is about €40.
Cars can only go as far as Piazzale Roma.
Day-trippers aged 14 and over pay on set days in 2026, but overnight guests are exempt.
