Getting from Athens Airport to the city centre
Athens International Airport (ATH) is about 30 km east of the city centre. The main options are:
- Metro: line 3 runs from the airport to Syntagma in about 40 minutes.
- Express bus: the X95 goes to Syntagma and the X96 to Piraeus, 24 hours a day.
- Taxi: yellow taxis charge an official flat fare to the city centre, higher at night.
- Private transfer: a driver meets you inside arrivals at a fixed price, the easiest option with luggage, children or a group.

The drive from Athens Airport to Piraeus takes about 45–60 minutes, depending on traffic. If you have a ferry the same day, book a transfer that tracks your flight. Athens Transfer Service lists Athens Airport to the city or Piraeus from about €82 in a Mercedes minivan.
