About George’s Taxi Athens
George’s Taxi is a licensed Athens travel agency that has been arranging private transfers in Athens since 1993. It says it was the first company in Greece to offer pre-arranged transfers with meet & greet, and it still focuses on travellers who want a reliable, English-speaking driver waiting for them.
Athens Airport and Piraeus transfers
The core service is pre-booked transfers between Athens Airport, hotels in the city and the Piraeus cruise terminals. Drivers meet you with a name sign, and all cars are non-smoking Mercedes sedans, vans and minibuses. Bookings are made by email at least 24 hours ahead; the phone line is for emergencies between 7am and 10pm.
Shore excursions and private tours
For cruise passengers, George’s Taxi runs shore excursions from Piraeus to the Acropolis and other Athens highlights, with licensed tour guides available on request. It also offers day trips and longer tours on the Greek mainland.
Find Your Roots tours
An unusual extra is its “Find Your Roots” programme for Greek-diaspora visitors, who are driven to their family’s home village and helped to trace their history.
