Hamburg taxis to the airport and cruise terminals
Hamburg is a major cruise port and has a busy airport close to the centre. Taxis follow a city tariff, and since 2025 you can also book one fixed price per ordered trip during a two-year trial.
Hamburg taxi prices
- Base fare €4.50, then €2.70 per km for the first 9 km and €2.00 per km after that
- Waiting €38 per hour; large taxi for more than 4 people €8; bicycles €8
- Trips over 50 km are not bound to the tariff, so agree the price first; one firm quotes about €2.52 per km for 1–4 people
Hamburg cruise terminal transfers
Hamburg has four cruise terminals. Altona and Steinwerder are best by taxi. HafenCity has a direct U-Bahn link, and Baakenhöft is 50 m from the metro with a taxi stand. Taxi firms take orders straight to and from the terminals. Book ahead on turnaround days, when many ships change passengers at once.
Getting around Hamburg
An HVV single ticket for zones AB costs €4.10, or about €3.81 online. Wheelchair users can book accessible taxis 24/7, with flat fares from €46 for up to 12 km. Hamburg Airport is about 8.5 km north of the centre. Many cruises also leave from Kiel, about 90 km north.
