Nuremberg is a compact city with an old town, a busy trade fair and a river cruise pier. Its taxi central has run since 1925, and Nuremberg Airport is only about 7 km away.
From June 2026 the base fare is €4.90. The first km costs €5.10, km 2 to 5 cost €2.70 each, and further km €2.20. Waiting costs €40 per hour. Groups of 5–6 pay €3 extra, 7–8 pay €10, and a wheelchair taxi costs €10 extra. Outside the tariff area, roughly 40 km around the city, prices are agreed in advance. You can order by phone or through the Taxi Deutschland app, and saloon cars, 8-seaters and wheelchair taxis are available.
River cruise ships stop at Hafenstraße, south of the centre. A taxi to the Hauptbahnhof costs about €24, to Hauptmarkt about €28.50, and to the airport about €38.50, taking 20–25 minutes. Book ahead on embarkation days.
Local minicab firms also offer wheelchair-friendly vans and fixed prices to Munich Airport and Frankfurt Airport. ÜFEX express trains also link Nuremberg with Munich Airport. See the Munich guide.
