Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) is about 7 km north of downtown Düsseldorf, with its own motorway link. It is one of the easiest German airports to reach by car or train.
There is no airport surcharge on the meter, but more than 4 passengers cost about €9 extra.
S-Bahn S11 leaves from the station under the terminal and reaches Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof in 12 minutes. It runs every 20 minutes, or every 30 minutes in the evening and at weekends. A single ticket costs about €3.40. The free SkyTrain takes about 7 minutes to the long-distance station, 2.5 km away, served by ICE, IC and regional trains.
Regional trains run to Cologne Hauptbahnhof about three times an hour, in about 40 minutes. A fixed-price car from south Cologne costs about €180–215, so the train is better value for solo travellers. For Cologne flights, see Cologne Bonn Airport.
About €27–28 for the 8–9 km trip.
S-Bahn S11 takes about 12 minutes.
