Dresden lies on the main rail line between Prague and Berlin. Trains are the easiest public option, while private transfers from Czech firms suit groups, heavy luggage and door-to-door trips.
EuroCity and ComfortJet trains run every two hours between Prague, Dresden and Berlin. Dresden to Prague takes about 2 h 05 to 2 h 15, and Prague to Berlin just under 4 hours. Saver fares on the route start at about €18.99 in second class. Note that most Monday trains are cancelled for trackwork from 16 March to 12 December 2026.
Book a fixed price before you travel, and ask if child seats or extra luggage cost more. Sedans usually take one to four people and vans five to seven. If your Monday train is cancelled, a private transfer is a simple backup. For more routes, see our Czech Republic transfer guide.
