Which Paris airport is closest to the city centre?

Orly. It lies just south of the city, and since 2024 metro line 14 has run from Orly Airport station, next to Terminal 3, straight into Paris. Paris je t’aime, the city’s tourist office, puts the ride at about 20 minutes, with trains every few minutes. CDG is further out to the north-east, but the RER B still gets you into town in under an hour. Beauvais is not really a Paris airport at all: it is near the town of Beauvais in the Oise, and the shuttle takes well over an hour.

Paris Orly to the city centre

Orly metro line 14

Line 14 is now the main link: driverless trains run from Orly Airport to Gare de Lyon, Châtelet and on to Saint-Denis Pleyel, so many hotels are one change or no change away. You need the Paris Region <> Airports ticket, €14 full fare (€7 reduced), sold in the Île-de-France Mobilités and Bonjour RATP apps and at station machines. It includes metro and RER connections within two hours, but not buses or trams. Holders of a Navigo pass do not need an extra ticket.

Orlyval and RER B

The Orlyval shuttle train links the terminals with Antony station on the RER B, from where trains continue to Denfert-Rochereau, Châtelet–Les Halles and Gare du Nord. Allow about 40 minutes in total. The same €14 airport ticket covers Orlyval plus the RER. It is useful for the Latin Quarter or if line 14 is disrupted.

Orlybus, tram and night buses

The Orlybus to Denfert-Rochereau no longer runs: its last day was 3 March 2025, so ignore older guides. Tram T7 from Terminal 4 to Villejuif–Louis Aragon (metro 7) takes 35–40 minutes and costs a standard €2.05 bus–tram ticket, plus a metro ticket – the cheapest route, but slow with luggage. After midnight, Noctilien night buses, including the N22 to Châtelet and N31 to Gare de Lyon, take about an hour.

Orly taxi fare to Paris

Licensed Paris taxis charge a fixed fare between Orly and the city: €36 to or from the Left Bank and €45 to or from the Right Bank, per vehicle, day or night. A €5.50 supplement applies per passenger from the fifth, and a €4 (immediate) or €7 (advance) charge only if you book. Ranks are outside each terminal; the ride takes about 25–40 minutes. For pre-booked cars see our Paris Orly Airport transfers page.

Paris CDG to the city centre

CDG is Paris’s biggest airport and Air France’s hub. The main options, from our full Paris CDG Airport to city centre guide:

  • RER B: €14 airport ticket, about 30–45 minutes to Gare du Nord or Châtelet–Les Halles, roughly every 10–20 minutes from about 04:50 to just after midnight.
  • Bus 9517 + metro 14: the replacement for the Roissybus, which ended on 28 February 2026; 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes via Saint-Denis–Pleyel.
  • Taxi: fixed €56 to the Right Bank or €65 to the Left Bank, 35–60 minutes.

CDG Express from March 2027

The CDG Express, a direct train from CDG to Gare de l’Est, is due to open on 28 March 2027. It is planned to take about 20 minutes, with a train every 15 minutes from 05:00 to midnight. The fare had not been announced in the sources checked; until it opens, use the RER B.

Beauvais airport to Paris

Aérobus shuttle to Porte Maillot

The official airport shuttle, Aérobus Paris-Beauvais, runs between the airport and Paris Porte Maillot (Pershing car park, 17th arrondissement), where you can take metro line 1 and the RER. Paris je t’aime gives the journey time as about 1 hour 15 minutes, depending on traffic, and says buses leave the airport about 20 minutes after each flight lands; towards the airport they leave Porte Maillot three hours before departures. Fares listed by Paris je t’aime are €16.90 one way online (€29.90 return) or €18 at the airport and Porte Maillot, and FlixBus, which began selling Aérobus seats in July 2026, quoted €17.90. Children’s fares are lower. Tickets are valid for 12 months, and the shuttle is the simplest way into Paris.

Beauvais airport to Paris by train

A local bus links the airport with Beauvais railway station, and regional TER trains run to Paris Gare du Nord in about an hour on direct services. It is usually slower than the shuttle once you add the connection, but useful if the shuttle is full or you are visiting Beauvais.

Beauvais taxi or transfer to Paris

Paris’s fixed taxi fares do not apply to Beauvais. A taxi or car to central Paris runs on the meter or a quoted price over around 80–85 km, so it is much dearer than from CDG or Orly; for a group, a pre-booked car or minivan with a price agreed in advance is the safer choice. See Beauvais Airport transfers.

CDG or Orly: which is better?

If your airline flies to both, Orly is usually quicker and cheaper by taxi (€36–45 against €56–65), and line 14 makes it easy for central and southern Paris. CDG has far more long-haul and connecting flights, and it is better placed for northern Paris and for Disneyland Paris, which TGV and OUIGO trains reach from CDG 2 TGV station in around 10 minutes. Public transport costs the same €14 from both.

Which airport for Disneyland Paris?

CDG, for the direct high-speed train to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy. From Orly there is no direct train, so families with luggage often book a shuttle or transfer; Magical Shuttle and Paris Shuttle Low Cost are among the companies on our Disneyland Paris transfers page. Taxis to Disneyland are metered from either airport. From Beauvais, the trip is long, and a pre-booked car is the practical option.

Pre-booked private transfers from Paris airports

A pre-booked car or van is worth it when:

  • you are five or more, where the taxi adds €5.50 per extra passenger and a minivan fits everyone;
  • you land at Beauvais, where there is no fixed taxi fare into Paris;
  • you land late, after the last metro or RER;
  • you need child seats or a wheelchair-accessible vehicle;
  • you are heading to Disneyland Paris, Versailles or between airports.

Companies listed on intransfers.com include G7 Taxis, Alpha Taxis, Chabé, Paris Shuttle Low Cost, Magical Shuttle and, for adapted vehicles, Transports Adaptés Franciliens. Compare all operators on our Paris CDG Airport transfers and Paris Orly Airport transfers pages, or browse Paris transfers. You book directly with the company, so confirm the price, terminal, waiting time and luggage allowance in writing.

Which to choose if…

  • You want the shortest trip into Paris: Orly, by metro 14 or a €36–45 taxi.
  • You are flying long-haul or connecting: CDG.
  • You are going to Disneyland Paris: CDG, for the TGV to Marne-la-Vallée.
  • You want the cheapest flight: Beauvais can work, but add around €17–18 and 1 hour 15 minutes or more each way.
  • You are staying in the Left Bank or south of Paris: Orly.
  • You land after midnight: CDG or Orly, where fixed-fare taxis wait 24/7; at Beauvais, the shuttle is timed to flights, or pre-book a car.

Tips for Paris airports

  • Check which “Paris” airport is on your ticket. Beauvais is often sold as “Paris Beauvais” but is around 80 km from the city.
  • Know your bank. Taxi fares differ for the Left and Right Bank; check which side your hotel is on.
  • Buy the airport ticket in the app before landing to avoid queues at the machines; the ordinary metro ticket is not valid to CDG or Orly.
  • Ignore ride offers in arrivals. Use the official taxi rank, an app pick-up point or a driver you booked.
  • CDG terminal names are changing to single numbers 1 to 7, with new signs from September to December 2026.
  • Tipping: service is included in taxi fares; rounding up is a courtesy.
