Updated · 8 min read

How to get from Paris CDG Airport to the city centre in 2026: RER B train times and the new €14 ticket, fixed taxi fares, buses after the end of Roissybus, night options and private transfers.

The fastest and cheapest way to get from Paris CDG Airport to the city centre is the RER B train: €14 with the Paris Region <> Airports ticket, around 30–45 minutes to Gare du Nord or Châtelet–Les Halles, with trains roughly every 10–20 minutes. The easiest option is an official taxi at the fixed price of €56 to the Right Bank or €65 to the Left Bank, or a pre-booked driver from our Paris CDG Airport transfers page. Note that the Roissybus no longer runs: its last day was 28 February 2026.

How to get from Paris CDG Airport to Paris by train (RER B)

The RER B is the main CDG train to the city. It has two airport stations: Aéroport CDG 1, reached by the free CDGVAL shuttle train from Terminals 1 and 3, and Aéroport CDG 2 TGV, which sits between the Terminal 2 halls. Follow the “Paris by train” signs. Both stations are at the start of the line, so you will normally get a seat.

Trains run about every 10–20 minutes from roughly 04:50 to just after midnight. Journey time is around 30–45 minutes depending on whether you catch a non-stop or all-stations service. Key stops in Paris are Gare du Nord (connections to metro lines 4 and 5 and RER D), Châtelet–Les Halles (metro lines 1, 4, 7, 11 and 14, RER A and D), Saint-Michel Notre-Dame, Luxembourg and Denfert-Rochereau.

CDG train ticket price

Since 1 January 2026 the trip requires the Paris Region <> Airports ticket: €14 full fare, €7 reduced fare. It is sold through the Île-de-France Mobilités and Bonjour RATP apps (stored on your phone or loaded onto a Navigo Easy card) and at ticket machines in the stations. It allows connections between the RER, trains and the metro for two hours from first validation, so the onward metro ride to your hotel is included. It is not valid on buses or trams. The standard Metro–Train–RER ticket does not cover the airport. Holders of a monthly or annual Navigo pass do not need an extra ticket.

Luggage and accessibility

The RER B is a commuter line: carriages fill up at rush hour and some Paris stations have long corridors and stairs. Châtelet–Les Halles in particular is large and busy with suitcases. Lifts exist at the airport stations, but step-free access across the whole line is not guaranteed, so travellers in wheelchairs or with heavy bags usually find a taxi or adapted transfer easier. Weekend and late-evening engineering works on the RER B are common; check the RATP or Île-de-France Mobilités app on the day.

Paris CDG bus to city centre

Roissybus has ended

The Roissybus between CDG and Opéra stopped running after 28 February 2026. Older guides and some signage may still mention it. Unused Roissybus tickets can be refunded through RATP customer service.

Express bus 9517 via Saint-Denis–Pleyel

The replacement route links CDG with Saint-Denis–Pleyel (metro line 14), Carrefour Pleyel (line 13), La Plaine–Stade de France (RER B), Stade de France–Saint-Denis (RER D) and Argenteuil station. From central Paris you take metro line 14 to Saint-Denis–Pleyel, then the 9517. Île-de-France Mobilités estimates 50 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes from central Paris. Buses run about every 15–30 minutes from around 05:10 to 00:30. The bus fare is €2.05 with Navigo Easy, €1.64 with Navigo Liberté+, or €2.55 bought on board by bank card or SMS, and it is free with a Navigo pass. The bus stops at the airport rather than at each terminal, so allow time for a connection on CDGVAL.

Bus 351 to Nation

Bus 351 runs to Nation in eastern Paris every 30 minutes from about 05:30 to 20:20 and takes around 80 minutes. It costs one Bus–Tram ticket. It is slow and can be crowded, but it is the cheapest daytime option if you are staying in the east.

Night buses (Noctilien)

After the last RER B, Noctilien lines N140 and N143 run overnight between the airport (Roissypôle bus station) and Gare de l’Est, taking roughly an hour with departures every 30–60 minutes. They use Bus–Tram tickets, not the airport rail ticket.

Paris CDG taxi fare to the city centre

Licensed Paris taxis charge a fixed fare between CDG and the city: €56 to or from the Right Bank (north of the Seine) and €65 to or from the Left Bank (south of the Seine). The price is per vehicle, applies day and night, every day of the week, and does not change with traffic. Luggage is not charged. A supplement of €5.50 per person applies from the fifth passenger. If you book a taxi by phone or app rather than taking one at the rank, a booking charge of €4 (immediate) or €7 (advance) can be added. Destinations outside Paris itself, such as La Défense or Disneyland Paris, are metered.

Taxi ranks are outside each terminal’s arrivals level and are clearly signed. Official taxis have a roof light marked “TAXI PARISIEN” and a meter. The ride takes about 35–60 minutes, more on weekday mornings and Friday evenings on the A1 and A3 motorways. Paris taxis must accept bank cards; say you will pay by card before setting off if you prefer to. Taxi companies such as G7 Taxis also take advance bookings.

Uber and ride-hailing from CDG

Uber, Bolt and other VTC (private hire) apps operate at CDG. Pick-ups are from designated areas in front of the terminals rather than the taxi ranks; the app shows the meeting point. Prices are set by the app and rise with demand, so they can be below or well above the taxi fixed fare, especially late at night or when several flights land together. Check the quote against the €56/€65 taxi price before confirming. Anyone approaching you inside the terminal offering a ride is not an app driver.

Pre-booked private transfers from Paris CDG

A pre-booked transfer means a driver meets you in the arrivals hall, often with a name sign, and drives you to the door at a price agreed in advance. It is worth considering when:

  • you are a group of five or more, where a minivan avoids the taxi’s per-passenger supplement and fits everyone in one car;
  • you land late at night, after the last RER B, or after a long-haul flight;
  • you travel with lots of luggage, ski or golf bags, or a pushchair;
  • you need child seats or a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, which taxis at the rank cannot guarantee;
  • you are going beyond Paris, to Disneyland Paris, Versailles or Orly, where taxis run on the meter;
  • you want flight tracking, so the driver adjusts if you are delayed.

Ask whether waiting time and parking are included and how long the driver will wait after landing. Compare operators on our Paris CDG Airport transfers page, or see all companies serving the capital on the Paris transfers page. Companies listed for CDG include Chabé, VTC Aéroport Paris, My Daily Driver and Transports Adaptés Franciliens for wheelchair-accessible transport.

Getting from CDG to places beyond Paris

Paris CDG to Disneyland Paris

TGV and OUIGO high-speed trains run from Aéroport CDG 2 TGV station to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy, next to the park entrance, in around 10 minutes, with fares from about €16–19 depending on the date. Departures are not frequent, so check times before you book. By road the trip takes about 40–50 minutes; taxis are metered. Shuttle and transfer operators such as Magical Shuttle serve the resort hotels; see our Disneyland Paris transfers page.

Paris CDG to Orly Airport

For a connection between the two airports, take the RER B to Châtelet–Les Halles and then metro line 14 to Orly (the airport rail ticket covers both within two hours), or RER B to Antony and the Orlyval shuttle. Allow 70–90 minutes. A taxi or transfer takes about 45–60 minutes in normal traffic. Operators serving Orly are listed on our Paris Orly Airport transfers page.

Paris CDG to Versailles

There is no direct train. By RER B and RER C via Saint-Michel Notre-Dame the trip takes roughly 1 hour 30 minutes. By road, allow around an hour outside rush hour; taxis are metered, so a fixed-price transfer gives more certainty.

Tips for arriving at Paris CDG

  • Terminal names are changing. CDG is renaming its terminals with single numbers from 1 to 7 ahead of the CDG Express opening, with new signs going up between September and December 2026. Check both the old and new name on your booking.
  • Night arrivals. The last RER B leaves around midnight. After that, the choice is the Noctilien bus, a taxi at the fixed fare, or a pre-booked driver.
  • Unlicensed drivers. Ignore people offering “taxi” rides in the arrivals hall. Use the official rank, an app pick-up point or a driver you booked. Official taxis have a meter and a “TAXI PARISIEN” roof sign.
  • Check the bank. Know whether your hotel is on the Right Bank (€56) or Left Bank (€65) so you can confirm the fare before the taxi leaves.
  • Tipping. Service is included in taxi fares. Rounding up or adding a few euros for help with bags is appreciated but not expected.
  • Card payment. Taxis must accept cards. Buy RER tickets in the app before landing to skip machine queues.
  • Peak traffic. The A1 motorway into Paris is congested on weekday mornings (roughly 07:00–10:00) and evenings (17:00–20:00). The train is usually quicker at those times.
  • CDG Express is not yet open. The direct train to Gare de l’Est is scheduled to open on 28 March 2027.
