Southampton cruise port to Heathrow £170
Dover is the UK’s second-busiest cruise port after Southampton, with 130 cruise calls in 2019. Its two cruise terminals in the Western Docks can take up to three ships at once. Uber is not available in Dover and taxis are limited, especially in the morning, so pre-book.
Dover Priory station is about 1.2–1.5 miles from the cruise terminals, around 5 minutes by car. High-speed trains reach London St Pancras in about 66 minutes, roughly hourly, and other trains run to Charing Cross and Victoria. There is no shuttle bus from the cruise terminal to the station, so take a taxi. From London, the Eurostar continues to Paris.
Give your ship name and disembarkation time when you book, and the driver meets you at the terminal and helps with luggage. MPVs suit families with big cases; one firm lists Dover to Gatwick at about £225 by MPV. Cruise Terminal Two opened in 1996 and takes ships up to 319 metres long.
Published fares are about £225–£248 for a car.
