Belfast taxi and transfers

Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland, so prices here are in pounds. Large local taxi firms run fleets of hundreds of cars, and chauffeur companies cover airport runs, weddings and tours to the Giant’s Causeway. Most firms take bookings 24/7 by phone or app.

Belfast taxi fares

Metered taxis follow Northern Ireland’s maximum fares. From 6am to 8pm on weekdays, the meter starts at £3.20, with £4.40 for the first mile and £1.86 a mile after. Evenings and weekends cost more, at £2.03 a mile. Taxis may add £1 for each passenger beyond four, plus airport charges. Class C and D taxis are outside the cap, so agree the fare first.

  • Belfast International Airport: about 30 minutes by road
