Transfers in Brașov

Brașov is the main base for visiting Transylvania. It has a medieval old town, the ski resort of Poiana Brașov just 12 km away, and Bran Castle within an hour’s drive.

Brașov-Ghimbav Airport

The new Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport (GHV) opened in 2023, about 15 km from the city centre. A private transfer to the centre costs about 75–125 RON, and to Poiana Brașov from about 135 RON per car. Flights are still limited, so many visitors still fly into Bucharest.

From Bucharest Otopeni to Brașov

The drive from Bucharest Otopeni Airport to Brașov is about 170 km and takes around 3 hours through the Prahova Valley, longer at weekends. A private car usually costs 600–700 RON (about €120–150). This is the most common transfer booked by skiers and tourists.

Ski resorts and day trips

Brașov companies also drive to the Prahova Valley ski areas of Predeal, Azuga and Sinaia, to Bran Castle (about 200 RON from the airport) and on day trips to Peleș Castle, Sighișoara and Râșnov. Several have luxury cars and minivans for groups, and some drivers speak German or Hebrew.
