Amsterdam taxi and transfers
Amsterdam’s centre is compact, and taxis and transfer firms cover the trips that matter most to visitors: the airport, the cruise terminals and longer rides to other Dutch cities. Many firms work 24/7 and offer vans for groups of up to eight.
Amsterdam to Schiphol taxi prices
Fares follow the national maximum tariff, and pre-booked fixed prices are common. The city’s best-known taxi central lists fixed Schiphol fares of at most about €50 from Centrum, Zuid, West and Oost, and about €55 from Noord and IJburg. Other firms list fixed fares from about €40. Taxis taken from the Schiphol rank run on the meter. The train is quicker in rush hour, at about 17 minutes.
Amsterdam cruise terminal transfers
- Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA), Piet Heinkade: a 10–15 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal
- PTA to Schiphol: about 30–45 minutes by taxi, around €45–60; fixed fares from Schiphol about €65 by sedan
- IJmuiden Felison terminal: about €95 by sedan from Schiphol, or about €75 from Amsterdam centre
