Gozo transfers and ferries
Gozo has no airport, so most visitors fly into Malta Airport and take a ferry. There are two main crossings, and transfer firms can handle the whole trip for you. Some firms keep the same driver all the way, on the ferry too.
Gozo ferry from Ċirkewwa
The Gozo Channel ferry sails daily from Ċirkewwa, near Mellieħa, to Mġarr. The crossing takes about 25 minutes and runs 24 hours. An adult foot passenger pays about €4.05 and a child €1.15. A car and driver costs about €15.70. A taxi from the airport to Ċirkewwa is about €35–37.
Gozo fast ferry from Valletta
The fast ferry leaves from Lascaris Wharf in Valletta and takes about 45 minutes. An adult one-way ticket costs about €7.50. The TD4 airport bus stops near the terminal for €3.
Malta Airport to Gozo transfer prices
- Via the Valletta fast ferry, with a cab from Mġarr: about €40
- Split transfer via Ċirkewwa: about €65–70
- Direct door to door in one car: about €85–95
Ferry tickets are sometimes extra, so check. On Gozo, white taxis wait at Mġarr ferry terminal and in Victoria. Bolt, eCabs and Uber also operate here, so getting to your hotel is easy.
