Transfers in Rome
Rome has two airports, Fiumicino and Ciampino, and a busy cruise port at Civitavecchia. Official taxis use fixed fares to the centre, which means anywhere inside the Aurelian Walls. Private car companies offer pre-booked transfers with a driver waiting for you.
Rome airport transfer prices
- Fiumicino Airport to central Rome: about €55 by taxi, per ride
- Ciampino Airport to central Rome: about €40 by taxi
- Leonardo Express train, Fiumicino to Termini: about €14, 32 minutes
- Private car from either airport: from about €45 plus VAT for up to three people
Rome to Civitavecchia cruise port
Civitavecchia is about 70 km north-west of Rome. The taxi fixed fare from Fiumicino to the port is about €130. Private transfers from the port to Rome start at about €120 plus VAT for a car, and groups can book minivans.
Tips for Rome transfers
Fixed taxi fares are per car, not per person, and include supplements. They are set by the city and can change without notice, so check before you go. Some private companies charge more at night and on public holidays. For long trips south, private cars also run from Rome to Positano and the Amalfi Coast.
