Cork Airport chauffeur transfers from €110
Shannon Airport in County Clare is about 25 km west of Limerick, 20 km south of Ennis and around 85 km south of Galway. It handled about 2.1 million passengers in 2024, and in 1986 it opened Europe’s first US preclearance facility. There is no rail link, and the nearest station is Sixmilebridge, so most travellers take a bus, taxi or pre-booked transfer.
The taxi desk is in the Arrivals Hall. One Shannon firm publishes fixed prices for a car of up to four:
Route 343 links the airport with Limerick Bus Station and Ennis 24 hours a day, every 20–30 minutes by day and hourly after midnight. Expressway route 51 has 16 return services a day to Galway, and the X51 runs non-stop to Galway and Limerick. For Cork, a fixed-price car costs about €204.
Many arrivals come on transatlantic flights and head straight for the west coast. A 7-seat minibus to Galway costs about €200, and to Killarney about €275. Chauffeur tours include a Cliffs of Moher half day at about €295 and a full-day Ring of Kerry tour at about €395. Fixed prices mean traffic does not change the fare.
