Dublin Port ferry and cruise transfers
Dublin Port is close to the city centre and handles ferries and a busy cruise season, with 158 cruise calls in 2019. Getting into town is quick, but cruise passengers should check where their ship berths before they book a transfer.
Dublin Port cruise terminal berths
- Alexandra Basin (berths 30, 33 and 37): large ships, about 2 km from the centre
- Berth 18, North Quay Extension: smaller ships, by the Tom Clarke Bridge
- Dún Laoghaire: some ships anchor here and tender passengers ashore
You may not walk out of the Alexandra Basin area. A shuttle takes passengers to No. 2 Branch Road, where you can walk out or take an on-site taxi. The Point Luas stop is about 17 minutes on foot from there, or 9 minutes from Berth 18. Cruise-line shuttles usually go to Merrion Square.
Dublin Port taxi and FerryLink bus
A taxi from the cruise berths to the centre takes about 10 minutes and costs about €10–18. The FerryLink bus (route 853) links the ferry terminals with Connolly, Georges Quay, Aston Quay and Heuston Station. It costs €3 to or from the city and €4.50 to Heuston, and it is cashless, so pay by card or Leap. For flights, see Dublin Airport transfers or Dublin city transfers.
