Munich taxi fares to the airport and Messe
Munich is one of the easiest German cities for taxi prices. The city sets official fixed fares for the busiest routes, and these apply at any time, including trade fair weeks.
Munich taxi fixed fares
- Hauptbahnhof to Munich Airport: €96
- Messe München to Munich Airport: €90
- Messe München to Hauptbahnhof: €41
Other trips use the meter: a minimum fare of €5.90, €2.70 per km for the first 7 km and €2.50 per km after that. Waiting costs €39 per hour. From the fifth passenger there is a €10 surcharge, and a bicycle costs €7.50.
Pre-booked fixed prices in Munich
Munich was the first German city to allow a fixed-price corridor. For a pre-booked trip, a taxi can agree a price from 10% below to 30% above the meter fare. You can book through the taxi co-operative by phone, app or WhatsApp. Chauffeur firms also quote fixed prices, with business cars from the centre to the airport from about €145.
Public transport and day trips
An MVV single ticket for zone M costs €4.20. For a group, the day ticket for zones M–5 costs €32.60. For the mountains, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is about 90 km away with hourly trains. Fly in or out via Nuremberg for northern Bavaria.
