Transfers and taxi in Pula
Pula is the largest town in Istria, famous for its Roman amphitheatre, the Brijuni islands and the beaches of Medulin and Premantura. It is the first stop for most visitors flying into Istria.
Pula Airport
Pula Airport (PUY) is only about 8 km from the town centre. A private transfer costs about €25 and takes around 15 minutes. Local taxi companies also offer fixed prices to Medulin, Fažana and Vodnjan.
Istria from Pula
Popular routes from Pula are Rovinj (about 40 minutes), Poreč (about 50 minutes), Umag and the hill towns of Motovun and Grožnjan. Wine and olive oil tours with a driver are a good way to see inland Istria without driving yourself.
Italy and Slovenia
Pula is close to Trieste (about 1 hour 45 minutes), Ljubljana and Venice. Cross-border transfers are useful if you find cheaper flights to those airports.
Ferries and events
Pula’s port has catamarans to Venice and Lošinj in summer, and the town hosts the Pula Film Festival and concerts in the Arena. Book your transfer early during big events.
