Pula Airport to Pula €25, Rovinj €65
Pula Airport (PUY) is the main airport of Istria, about 8 km north-east of Pula. It has many seasonal flights from the UK, Germany and Scandinavia, and is the gateway to the resorts of the Istrian west coast.
Besides Pula, transfers go to Medulin and Premantura, Fažana and the Brijuni islands, Vodnjan, and inland hill towns such as Motovun and Grožnjan. Public transport in Istria is limited, so a car or transfer makes a big difference.
Istria is close to the Italian and Slovenian borders. Pula companies drive to Trieste, Ljubljana and Venice, which is handy if you find a cheaper flight there.
Pula Airport is mostly seasonal, with the busiest weeks in July and August. Book your transfer early, give your flight number so the driver can follow delays, and ask for a fixed price that includes waiting time. Many Istrian apartments are in small villages, so send the exact address in advance.
For Kvarner and the islands, see Rijeka Airport transfers.
Pula Airport is also about 1.5 hours from Piran and Portorož on the Slovenian coast.
About €65 for a private car. The drive takes about 40 minutes.
