Getting around Dubrovnik Airport (DBV): travel guides

Dubrovnik Airport transfers

Dubrovnik Airport (DBV), also called Čilipi, is about 20 km south-east of Dubrovnik Old Town and only 6 km from Cavtat. It is also the closest big airport to the Montenegrin coast.

Dubrovnik Airport transfer prices

  • Airport → Cavtat: about €27
  • Airport → Dubrovnik Old Town, Lapad or Babin Kuk: about €40–45
  • Airport → Herceg Novi: about €50–70
  • Airport → Kotor: about €95–220
  • Airport → Budva: about €115–270
  • Airport → Mostar: about €240

Prices vary a lot between companies on the Montenegro routes, so it is worth comparing.

Dubrovnik Airport to Montenegro

Many travellers to the Bay of Kotor fly into Dubrovnik because it has more flights than Tivat. The Debeli Brijeg border crossing is about 20 minutes from the airport, and queues can be long on summer weekends. Montenegrin companies based in Herceg Novi and Kotor often offer the best prices on this route.

Old Town access

Cars cannot enter Dubrovnik’s walled Old Town. Your driver will drop you at Pile Gate or Ploče Gate, a short walk from most apartments.

Dubrovnik Airport is also the usual gateway for Mostar transfers (about €210–250 per car) and for pilgrims going to Medjugorje.

From Italy, ferries and flights from Bari also connect with the Dalmatian coast.
