Nice Airport tram line 2 to the city centre
Tram line 2 is the main public link from Nice Airport to the city. It stops at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 and runs east under the city to Jean Médecin, in the heart of the shopping district, and on to the Port Lympia. The airport says the ride to Jean Médecin takes under 30 minutes and trams run about every 7–8 minutes on weekdays. Other useful stops are Alsace-Lorraine (close to Nice-Ville railway station), Durandy and Garibaldi for the old town and Port Lympia for the harbour.
A second tram, line B, also serves both terminals and runs to the Centre Administratif (CADAM) about every 10 minutes. It is useful only if you are staying in the western districts. Tram line 3, towards Saint-Isidore and the Allianz Riviera stadium, does not reach the terminals; change at Grand Arénas.
Nice tram fares from the airport
From the airport, the Lignes d’Azur AERO return ticket costs €10, and the return journey has no time limit. Buy it from the machines at the tram stops, which take bank cards. If you will use public transport a lot in Nice, compare it with a 1-day or 7-day Lignes d’Azur pass. Lines 2 and B do not run on 1 May. Trams have step-free access and room for suitcases, but they can be busy at rush hour. Details are on the airport’s public transport page.
Nice Airport bus 12+ to the Promenade and old town
Lignes d’Azur bus 12+ runs from the stop Aéroport / Promenade, about 150 m on foot from Terminal 1, along the Promenade des Anglais to place Masséna, the old town, the Palais des Expositions and Hôpital Pasteur. It is handy for hotels on the seafront. Tickets must be bought before boarding, and the bus does not run on 1 May. In heavy traffic the tram is usually quicker.
Nice Airport to Monaco: bus, train, taxi or helicopter
Monaco is about 30 km east of the airport and is one of the most popular trips from Nice. There are four realistic ways to get there.
ZOU! express bus 80
The regional ZOU! line 80 leaves from Terminal 2, quay 1, and runs to Monaco and Menton. A one-way ticket to Monaco costs €21.40 (€21.80 if bought on board), and you can pay by tapping a bank card on the validator. On the timetable valid from 2 June 2026, buses run from around 06:05 to around 20:45, taking about 50 minutes to Monaco. Groups of three to nine can buy a group ticket. Check the latest times on the ZOU! timetable sheets.
Train from Nice Saint-Augustin
Nice Saint-Augustin railway station is under 500 m from the terminals, about a 7-minute walk from Terminal 1 (exit A0), or take the free tram to Grand Arénas. Trains on the Cannes–Nice–Monaco–Menton line run every 15 minutes on weekdays from 05:50 to 22:00, then every 30 minutes until 23:30. The trip to Monaco-Monte-Carlo takes around 30–40 minutes and is the cheapest option. Buy tickets on SNCF Connect, the app or the station machines.
Taxi or helicopter
A taxi from the airport to Monaco has a fixed fare of €95. Monacair runs shared helicopter flights to the Monaco heliport in about 7 minutes, with departures every 15 minutes from 08:00 until sunset; seats are sold per person and private charters are also available, so check current prices with Monacair.
Nice Airport taxi fixed prices
Official taxi ranks are on the arrivals level at Terminal 1, door A1, and Terminal 2, door A3; follow the TAXIS signs after baggage reclaim. Official taxis do not pick up anywhere else. Fares and fixed prices are set by prefectoral order, and the airport publishes these 2026 fixed fares (VAT included):
- Nice centre: €32
- Antibes / Juan-les-Pins: €72
- Cannes: €85
- Monaco: €95
Other destinations are metered. The meter and the rate information must be visible inside the car. You can pay by card whatever the amount, and drivers must give a receipt for fares of €25 or more. If a driver quotes more than the fixed fare, ask why before you set off; the full list is on the airport’s taxi page.
Uber and Bolt at Nice Airport
Ride-hailing apps such as Uber and Bolt work in Nice, using licensed VTC drivers. Pick-ups take place at designated zones near the terminals, shown in the app, not at the taxi rank. App prices change with demand and can be higher than the taxi’s fixed €32 to the centre in summer and during events such as the Monaco Grand Prix or the Cannes Film Festival, so compare before you book.
Pre-booked private transfers from Nice Airport
A pre-booked transfer gives you a fixed price and a driver waiting at arrivals with a name sign. It is worth considering when:
- You are going beyond Nice, for example to Monaco, Cannes, Saint-Tropez or a hill village, where public transport involves changes.
- You are a group or family needing a van for up to eight people or child seats.
- You land late, after the last ZOU! bus, or need a guaranteed car during busy event weeks.
- You have a lot of luggage, golf bags or sports equipment.

Nice Airport to Cannes, Antibes and Saint-Tropez
Nice Airport to Cannes
ZOU! line 81 runs from Terminal 2, quay 2, to Cannes, with tickets bought by SMS or in the ZOU! app. The train from Nice Saint-Augustin is the cheaper alternative, taking around 30–40 minutes to Cannes station. A taxi has a fixed fare of €85, and the drive takes around 30–45 minutes outside rush hour. During the Film Festival and big conferences, demand for cars is very high, so book ahead. See our Cannes transfers page.
Nice Airport to Antibes and Juan-les-Pins
ZOU! line 82 leaves from Terminal 2, quay 3 (Terminal 1 about five minutes later). On the June 2026 timetable it runs roughly hourly from 07:30 to 21:55 and takes around 30–50 minutes to the Antibes bus station. Trains from Nice Saint-Augustin also stop at Antibes. A taxi costs a fixed €72.
Nice Airport to Saint-Tropez
Saint-Tropez is about 100 km away and has no railway station. By car the trip usually takes around 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, and much longer on summer weekends when the coast road jams. ZOU! line 90 runs from Terminal 2 to Saint-Raphaël, from where you would continue by local bus or, in season, by boat. Most visitors book a car; compare operators on our Saint-Tropez transfers page.
Tips for arriving at Nice Airport
- Check your terminal: T1 and T2 are linked by the free tram. ZOU! regional buses leave from Terminal 2 only.
- Night arrivals: trains run until about 23:30 on weekdays and the ZOU! Monaco bus stops in the evening. After that, use the taxi rank, an app or a pre-booked car.
- Fixed taxi fares: know the four airport fixed fares before you queue, and only use the official ranks at T1 door A1 and T2 door A3. Ignore anyone offering rides inside the terminal.
- Tipping: service is included; rounding up or a few euros for help with bags is a courtesy, not an obligation.
- Payment: taxis must accept cards; ZOU! line 80 accepts contactless bank cards on board.
- Peak traffic and events: the Monaco Grand Prix, the Cannes Film Festival and summer weekends bring heavy traffic on the A8 and the coast road. Allow extra time and pre-book.
