Larnaca Airport to Larnaca town by bus
Larnaca town is only about 5 km from the terminal, so this is the one trip where a local bus makes real sense. Cyprus Public Transport runs route 425 from the airport via Makenzy beach and the old town to Grigori Afxentiou Avenue at Finikoudes, the palm-lined seafront, then on towards the tourist area along the Dhekelia road. On the current timetable buses leave the airport every 30 minutes from 06:30 until 23:30, with a final departure at midnight. Makenzy is around 10 minutes away and Finikoudes around 25 minutes.
Several other routes (407, 429, 430 and 432) also call at the airport on their way to Larnaca bus station from Meneou, Kiti, Pervolia and other villages to the south, but they run far less often. Route 425 is the one to look for.
Larnaca bus fares

With a Motion card the fare is €2.00 by day and €3.50 at night, though for one trip from the airport the cash ticket is simpler. Pay the driver as you board and keep small notes and coins handy. Children under six travel free with a personalised card. Live timetables, detours and the journey planner are on the Cyprus Public Transport website.
Larnaca Airport to Limassol: Limassol Airport Express

The direct option is the Limassol Airport Express, a dedicated shuttle that runs between the airport and Limassol with a stop in the tourist area opposite the St Raphael hotel and its terminus at Agios Georgios Havouzas station, where there is free parking. Fares are €10 for adults and €5 for children aged 3–12.
The timetable valid from 1 July 2026 has departures across the day and evening, and the company says times are aligned with flight schedules. You can also see the operator’s listing, Limassol Airport Express, in our directory. From Havouzas you will usually need a short taxi or local bus to your hotel.

The Kyrenias Avenue station is outside the old walled city, so most visitors finish the journey by taxi. See the Kapnos Airport Shuttle listing for contact details.
Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa and Protaras
There is no frequent public bus from the airport to the east-coast resorts. Kapnos runs shared shuttles from its stop in the arrivals hall to Ayia Napa and Protaras, with extra departures from June to September. For Protaras the company lists €15 per adult and €5 for children aged 2–12, with drop-offs on Pernera Avenue (near the Windmills hotel) and Protaras Avenue (the McDonald’s stop), and a journey of about 65 minutes. Ayia Napa is slightly closer, at around 45–55 minutes. Departures run from about 02:30 to 23:25 in season, but timetables change through the year, so check the date you travel and book a week ahead in July and August.
A taxi to Ayia Napa costs roughly €50–€70 and to Protaras roughly €60–€80, taking 45–70 minutes. Browse local operators on our Ayia Napa transfers and Protaras transfers pages.
Larnaca Airport taxi fares

- Tariff 1 (06:01–20:30): €3.80 start, then €0.95 per km.
- Tariff 2 (20:31–06:00): €4.80 start, then €1.10 per km.

Night tariff, luggage and traffic all push the figure up. Ask the driver for an estimate before you set off, make sure the meter is running, and ask for a receipt.
Bolt at Larnaca Airport
Bolt operates in Larnaca and lists rides to and from the airport; the app shows the pick-up point and the price when you book. Uber does not operate in Cyprus. Availability can be thin late at night and in the small hours, so if you land after midnight it is safer to use the taxi rank or book ahead.
Pre-booked private transfers from Larnaca Airport
A taxi from the rank works fine for a couple going into Larnaca town. A pre-booked transfer is often worth it when:
- You are travelling to Ayia Napa, Protaras, Limassol or Paphos and want a fixed price instead of a long metered ride.
- You are a group of five or more, where taxis add 20–40% and a minivan is more practical.
- You land late, when buses have stopped and shuttle departures are sparse.
- You need child seats fitted in advance or have bulky luggage such as golf bags or diving gear.
- You want meet and greet with a name sign and flight tracking in case of delays.

Getting from Larnaca Airport to Limassol, Nicosia and Paphos by transfer
Limassol
Limassol is about 70 km west along the A1 and A5 motorways. Beyond the Airport Express, private drivers and taxis are listed on our Limassol transfers page. Hotels on the eastern seafront, such as the tourist area around Amathus, are reached faster than the old town and marina.
Nicosia
The capital is about 50 km inland. If you are staying in the old town or near Ledra Street, a door-to-door car avoids the change from the Kapnos station. Operators are listed on our Nicosia transfers page.
Paphos
Paphos is around 140 km away, usually 1½–2 hours by road. Some flights to Cyprus are cheaper into Larnaca even when you are staying in the west, so a pre-booked car to Paphos is a common choice; Kapnos also runs shuttles between the two airports. If you have a choice of flights, landing at Paphos Airport saves the long drive. More destinations are on our Cyprus transfers page.
Tips for arriving at Larnaca Airport
- Night arrivals: bus 425 runs until midnight and charges the €4.70 night fare from 21:00. The Kapnos Nicosia shuttle has runs in the small hours, but for the resorts after midnight a taxi on the night tariff or a pre-booked transfer is the realistic choice.
- Use the official rank: take taxis only from the rank outside arrivals or a car you have booked, and ignore offers of rides inside the terminal.
- Insist on the meter: urban taxis are required to use it. For long trips, agree on an estimate before leaving.
- Paying: carry cash in euros for the bus. Kapnos accepts only cards on board. Many taxis take cards, but ask before you get in.
- Tipping: not expected. Rounding up or a couple of euros for help with heavy bags is usual.
- Peak season: in July and August, book shuttles to Ayia Napa and Protaras early and allow extra time on the A3 at weekends.
- Hiring a car: Cyprus drives on the left, and the airport is a short drive from the A3 motorway towards both Limassol and Ayia Napa.
