Főtaxi is the best-known taxi firm in Budapest. Its roots go back to 1913, when the country’s first taxi company was founded. Főtaxi Zrt. itself dates from 1993.

Főtaxi has been the official taxi partner of Budapest Airport since December 2010 and has won the airport tender three times in a row. You order at the Főtaxi stands outside Terminals 2A and 2B and take the car you are given. A ride to central Pest costs about HUF 14,000.
