Manchester Airport transfers – fixed pre-booked fares
Manchester Airport taxis – set fares, 24/7
Manchester has metered black cabs and many private hire firms with set fares to the airport. The city centre is about 10 miles from Manchester Airport, so the trip is quick by car, train or tram.
Black cabs are metered within the Manchester licensed area. Private hire cars must be pre-booked with a licensed operator, often at a fixed fare. Some operators keep the same tariff day and night, with higher rates only over Christmas and New Year. Ask for a minibus or Mercedes V-Class if you travel as a group.
Long-distance transfers are priced per car. One chauffeur firm lists Liverpool John Lennon Airport from about £87, Leeds Bradford from about £113, Birmingham Airport from about £207 and Heathrow from about £364. A Birmingham firm lists Birmingham to Manchester at about £150 plus VAT.
Take a train from Piccadilly in about 20 minutes, or a Metrolink tram from Victoria.
Fares start from around £20, and pre-booked chauffeur cars from about £47.
One chauffeur firm lists Manchester to Heathrow from about £364 per car.
