Piešťany taxis and transfers
Piešťany is Slovakia’s biggest and best-known spa town, in the Trnava Region. Hot springs of 67–69 °C treat rheumatic and arthritic conditions, and the spa sits on Spa Island between two branches of the Váh river. The town has about 26,000 residents and lies about 75 km north-east of Bratislava.
Piešťany airport transfer prices
- Bratislava Airport: about €60
- Bratislava centre: about €70–100
- Vienna Airport: about €100–150
- Vienna centre: about €120
Prices are per car and vary between local firms, so compare before you book.
Piešťany local taxis and trains
A ride within town costs about €3–5. The main Bratislava–Žilina–Košice railway runs through Piešťany, so trains link it with Bratislava and Žilina. Piešťany Airport mainly handles charter flights for spa clients, so most visitors fly into Bratislava or Vienna. The Sĺňava reservoir lies just south of town.
Tips for spa guests
Many spa guests arrive with luggage for a long stay, so a door-to-door car is often easier than the train. Give your driver the name of your spa hotel on Spa Island. Book your return trip early if you have a morning flight from Vienna, as the drive is the longest of the usual routes.
