Thessaloniki Airport to the city centre
Thessaloniki Airport (SKG), also called Makedonia Airport, is about 15 km south-east of the city centre. City bus 01X connects the airport with the centre, and taxis wait outside arrivals. A private transfer with meet & greet is the simplest choice with luggage.
Thessaloniki Airport to Halkidiki
Most summer visitors head to Halkidiki. The Kassandra peninsula, with Sani and Kallithea, is about 1–1.5 hours away. Sithonia, with Neos Marmaras, Porto Carras and Sarti, is about 2 hours, and Ouranoupoli near Mount Athos about 2.5 hours. Flexi Transfer publishes fixed fares: Nea Kallikratia €38, Sani Resort €70 and Sarti €125.
Thessaloniki transfer companies
HellasChauffeur drives Mercedes cars and vans to all Halkidiki resorts. Thessaloniki Taxi Transfers charges nothing extra for flight delays, and Taxivan9 has minibuses for up to 20.
Transfers from Bulgaria and North Macedonia
Thessaloniki Airport is also used by skiers heading to Bansko in Bulgaria. Bansko Transfers, Pirin Transfers and BanskoTransport pick up at Thessaloniki for the drive across the border.
Thessaloniki is also a common start for transfers to Skopje and Ohrid in North Macedonia (about €150–200 per car from Skopje).
