Getting from Corfu Airport
Corfu Airport (CFU), Ioannis Kapodistrias, is right next to Corfu Town, only about 3 km from the centre. The resorts, however, are spread across a long island: Kavos in the far south is about an hour away, and Sidari and Kassiopi in the north about 45–60 minutes.
Corfu transfer companies
Corfu Transfer Services is based in Kavos and covers both north and south, with no prepayment, free baby seats and Wi-Fi. MK Corfu Transfer is a family business in Ipsos with Mercedes minibuses, free Wi-Fi and USB charging, and welcome gifts on departure.
Transfer times from Corfu Airport
- Corfu Town: about 10 minutes
- Dassia and Ipsos: about 20–25 minutes
- Paleokastritsa: about 35–40 minutes
- Sidari, Roda and Kassiopi: about 45–60 minutes
- Kavos: about 1 hour
Day trips to the mainland
Corfu Transfer Services also runs day trips to the Acheron river, Lefkada and Meteora on the Greek mainland.
Taxi, bus or private transfer in Corfu?
Corfu has green local buses and blue town buses, but routes to the resorts can be slow and infrequent, especially in the evening. Taxis wait outside the terminal, yet long rides to Kavos or Sidari are expensive at the meter. A pre-booked transfer gives you a fixed price, a driver who knows the narrow village roads, and free waiting if your flight is late.
Corfu port and cruise passengers
The new port, close to the Old Town, handles ferries to Igoumenitsa, Paxos and Italy as well as cruise ships. Both listed companies also meet passengers at the port, which is handy for island-hopping or shore days.
From Corfu port, fast ferries cross to Saranda in Albania in 30–75 minutes, and local drivers there continue to Ksamil and Butrint.
