Transfers on Krk island
Krk is Croatia’s largest island and one of the easiest to reach: it is joined to the mainland by the Krk Bridge, and Rijeka Airport is actually on the island, near Omišalj.
Rijeka Airport to Krk towns
From the airport, a private car reaches Omišalj in about 10 minutes, Malinska in about 20 minutes, Krk town in about 25 minutes and Punat and Baška in 35–45 minutes. A transfer to Krk town costs about €55 per car. Local buses do not match all flight times, so a pre-booked driver is the simplest option, especially late at night.
Ferries to Cres and Lošinj
The Valbiska ferry port on the west coast of Krk links the island with Cres and Lošinj. Tell your driver your ferry time so you arrive with time to spare.
From Krk to the mainland
Popular onward transfers go to Rijeka, Opatija and Crikvenica (30–60 minutes), to Zagreb (about 2 hours, around €250) and to Istria, Trieste and Ljubljana. In July and August the bridge and coast road can be busy on Saturdays, so allow extra time for flights.
