Transfers in Banja Luka
Banja Luka is the second-largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the main city of the Republika Srpska entity. Its own airport has only a few flights, so many travellers use a bigger airport in a neighbouring country and book a long-distance transfer.
Airports used from Banja Luka
- Banja Luka Airport (BNX): about 25 km north, from about 50 KM
- Zagreb Airport: about 340 KM per car
- Sarajevo Airport: about 360 KM
- Belgrade Airport: about 480 KM
- Tuzla Airport: about 270 KM
What to expect
Local taxi companies publish fixed prices in convertible marks (KM). Cars have air conditioning, child seats are available on request and some drivers accept pets and cards. For groups, minibuses are available. Long trips to Budapest, Vienna and Venice can also be arranged.
Tips
Zagreb Airport is often the most practical choice from Banja Luka, as the motorway is good and there are many flights. Allow time for the border crossing between Bosnia and Croatia, which can be busy in summer and on Sundays.
Ask for the price in KM or euro before you travel, and mention if you have skis, bikes or pets.
