Belgium airport transfers and taxis
Belgium has two main airports for the capital: Brussels Airport at Zaventem and Brussels South Charleroi, a low-cost airport. Trains are fast and frequent, and transfer firms publish fixed prices for families, groups and early flights.
Brussels Airport and Charleroi transfers
- Brussels Airport to Brussels: trains in 11–23 minutes; fixed taxi transfers about €49–55
- Direct trains from Brussels Airport: Antwerp about 30 minutes, Ghent about 55 minutes, Bruges about 1 h 25
- Charleroi Airport to Brussels: shuttle bus from about €14.99; fixed transfers about €130
Regulated taxi fares in Belgium
Taxi fares are set locally. In Brussels, fares include VAT, service and tip, must be shown in the car and have an €8 minimum. Ghent sets its own rank fares, and rides taken at Zaventem fall under the Zaventem commune, not Brussels rules. For longer trips, a fixed price agreed in advance is common.
Zeebrugge cruise port and Eurostar
Cruise ships for Bruges dock at Zeebrugge, about 17 km from Bruges and about 100 km from Brussels and Antwerp. Eurostar links Brussels-Midi/Zuid with Paris in about 1 h 22, from about €29, and London in about 2 h. At night, the Collecto shared taxi in Brussels costs about €6 per person.
