Getting to Ksamil
Ksamil is a small resort with white beaches and tiny islands, about 17 km south of Saranda and next to Butrint National Park. It is one of the most popular summer destinations in Albania, and the easiest way to get there is a private transfer.
Ksamil transfer options
- Tirana Airport → Ksamil: about €155 per car, 4.5–5 hours
- Corfu → Saranda by ferry, then about 20 minutes by taxi
- Vlora → Ksamil: about 12,000 ALL
- Durrës → Ksamil: price on request
Which route is best?
If you can find a flight to Corfu, the ferry to Saranda is usually quicker than the long drive from Tirana. If you fly into Tirana, a private car is much more comfortable than the bus, and you can stop for lunch on the coast road through Himarë or in Gjirokastër.
Tips
Ksamil is very busy in July and August, with traffic around the beaches. Book transfers in advance, tell the driver your exact hotel and keep some cash, since smaller drivers may not take cards.
Many drivers from Saranda serve Ksamil every day, so you can also use them for trips to Butrint and the Blue Eye.
