Transfers to Durrës
Durrës is Albania’s main port and its busiest beach resort, with a long sandy coastline and a Roman amphitheatre in the old town. It is the closest beach to Tirana Airport, so many holidaymakers go straight from the plane to the sea.

Golem and the beach hotels
Most large beach hotels are south of the city in Durrës Plazh, Golem and Mali i Robit. Tell your driver the exact hotel name, as some resorts are far apart along the coast. Ferries from Italy (Bari and Ancona) also arrive in Durrës port, and local taxis meet them.
Tips
In July and August, traffic between Tirana and Durrës can be heavy, so leave extra time for airport drop-offs. Local companies offer fixed prices, flight tracking and child seats on request, and some use electric cars.
Most Durrës drivers can also take you back to the airport or on to the south coast later in your trip.
