City Taxi is a Budapest taxi cooperative founded in 1982 as the city’s first private taxi company. It works with about 650 drivers and more than 1,000 business clients.
Budapest Airport taxi pick-up
City Taxi has a simple ordering system at Budapest Airport. After you collect your bags, call +36 1 211 1118. Press 1 for Terminal 2A or 2 for Terminal 2B. Wait at the marked pick-up point. A text message tells you the driver’s details and arrival time.

- Time: HUF 130 per minute
These are the regulated Budapest rates. Trips to the Hungaroring outside the city cost HUF 1,040 per km. Every car takes bank cards.
Greener cars and an app
Nearly 300 cars are hybrid or electric. You can book in the City Taxi app or by phone, and pre-book a ride for later. Orders from a mobile number get a text with the pick-up time.
